Saving Money When Running A Startup

Jason Calacanis has today’s great post up titled How to save money running a startup (17 really good tips).  I don’t necessarily agree with all of them and they won’t all work in all cases, but there are some good nuggets in there.

Agreed, great posts. I tried scoring us at Ormigo and we are actually doing pretty wall. http://blog.thylmann.net/2008/03/07/how-to-save-m

And as you said, one might not agree with some of the points but overall, with a few twists, the list seems great.

Yeah! Love it! I especially like the part about spending money on decent chairs and in-house coffee to keep the troops comfortable and awake!

I will be speaking on how to manage savings like these at The DaVinci Institute this month (the 17th) – title of the talk: “The Five Tenets of Bootstrap-Management.”

I would love to see you all there!

The suggestions made are great, but completely overlook the biggest ways to save money: don't hire as many people and don't do as many projects. My take on it is here:
