Mid-Atlantic Venture Capital Funds

Q: Is there a list or could you recommend some mid-Atlantic angel investors/funds?

To whomever asked this question, remember to always be wary of where a particular angel group or equity fund prefers to invest. Some of these mid-Atlantic groups will actually not invest in areas outside of particular geographic areas; not all groups listed here will invest in the entire mid-Atlantic. For example, the Washington Dinner Club will invest only in the D.C. area.
It’s a great resource for mid-Atlantic start-ups, but be sure to use it wisely.

There is a big entrepreneurial scene in the “tech triangle” in NC – around Duke in Durham, UNC in Chapel Hill, etc. That area is starting to get happening and in a very similar way to Boulder. There are people there that are very passionate about the area and entrepreneurship and they’re working to make it a center.

To the first commentor–most angel groups are not “funds” and do, indeed, prefer to invest locally or perhaps regionally. I don’t think you need to be “wary” of that–just make sure to do your homework before approaching each group.
