Ask the VC Live – University of Michigan

I (Jason) will be visiting the University of Michigan in a couple of weeks to speak to different campus constituencies about entrepreneurship and venture capital.

As part of that, I’m going to plant my butt in a conference room on campus for a couple of hours and talk to anyone that wants to come by and chat, pitch me, talk about venture capital, etc.

Location:  Lorch Hall (Economics Building) Room 171, 611 Tappan, Ann Arbor

Time: 3pm to 5pm

Date: Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Students, professors, members of the community all invited.

  • Sounds worth the drive to me! Will it be similar to the VC Crash Course in CO? Or is the 3pm to 5pm slot when you're going to be in the conference room?

    • Actually will have no formal presentation unless folks want one

      • Then definitely worth the drive. I believe that you have to take risks to get off the ground sometimes. Would you consider pitching to VCs with similar companies in their portfolio a risk? I have a somewhat similarity to a company on The Foundry Group's portfolio.

        • Jon Gerlach

On that note, is it smart to try out for Techstars if some of them have invested in companies that compete?

          • The Techstars folks are all above board. I wouldn't worry about it.
